One more reason to watch The Good Wife!

Michael J. Fox has signed on for a new TV role on CBS’ The Good Wife, the network confirmed on Friday.

The veteran actor has been battling Parkinson’s Disease for nearly 20 years, but his illness doesn’t stop him from making the occasional guest appearance on some of television’s hottest shows.

This fall, Fox will appear opposite Julianna Margulies on the nine-time Emmy-nominated drama. The Family Ties alum has been cast as Simon Canning, a lawyer so “shrewd and cynical” that he’s willing to use his neurological condition to gain favor for his client — an otherwise unsympathetic pharamaceutical firm — in a class-action case.

“We’re absolutely thrilled that Michael has agreed to play this role…His intelligence as an actor, combined with his incredible comic timing will really bring this smart, cynical lawyer to life,” says series executive producers and creators of the show, Robert and Michelle King.

The Good Wife Season Two premieres Tuesday Sept. 28 on CBS.
