Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Day

Brooklyn Family Robinson: Steve Carell will produce and star in Brooklyn Family Robinson, an “adventure comedy with heart.” David Reynolds (Finding Nemo) is writing the screenplay, which follows a family that must make big adjustments when they move from a big city to an island. Disney will release the project. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Bullets Over Broadway

Bullets Over Broadway: Woody Allen’s 1994 comedy Bullets Over Broadway seemed a natural for a stage production, especially since it’s set in and around Broadway in the 1920s. But the musical version, featuring the stage debut of Zach Braff, has struggled to sell tickets since it opened on Broadway in April, and now the producers say they will close the show on August 24. It’s likely to lose “most or all of its $ 14 million capitalization.” Ouch! [New York Times]
