Movie News: Jared Leto to Portray Iconic Artist Andy Warhol; Watch Brad Pitt, Marion Cotillard …

Warhol: Jared Leto (Suicide Squad) is set to star in Warhol, a biographical drama about iconic artist Andy Warhol. Terence Winter (The Wolf of Wall Street) will write the screenplay, based in part on Warhol: A Biography by Victor Bockris. Warhol’s long career soared in the 1960s; he died in 1987. Leto will produce the project with Michael DeLuca (Captain Phillips and many others). [Variety]

The Escape: Clive Owen will reprise his role as an expert driver in a new TV spot for BMW. It’s described as an homage to the first eight themed spots in which he was featured, broadcast from 2001 to 2002, which were directed by the likes of Ang Lee, Joe Carnahan and John Woo. Dubbed The Escape, the new 11-minute spot was directed by Neill Blomkamp (Chappie); Dakota Fanning, Jon Bernthal and Vera Farmiga also star. It will debut on October 23. [THR]

Goodbye For Now: Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) will direct Goodbye For Now. It’s based on a book by Laurie Frankel about a computer wizard who creates technology that allows communication with the dead; the technology takes on far greater personal significance for him when the woman he loves dies. [Deadline]

Allied TV Spot: Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard star in a new TV spot for Allied. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the movie is set during World War II and follows the relationship between an intelligence officer and a French Resistance fighter. It will open in theaters on November 23. [Movieclips]
