americas best dance crew canceled mtv MTV cancels Americas Best Dance CrewMTV has canceled its reality competition, “America’s Best Dance Crew.” Produced by Randy Jackson of “American Idol” fame, the series has completed seven seasons.

Unlike its broadcast network rivals, “So You Think You Can Dance” and “America’s Got Talent”, “ABDC” featured only groups of dancers — the dance crews — competing to win a $ 100,000 prize. Mario Lopez hosted the program throughout its run, while the judging panel consisted of a variety of choreographers, singers and other entertainers. During the show’s final season, these judges were Lil Mama, JC Chavez and Dominic “D-Trix” Sandoval.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms the cancellation, which follows several seasons of ratings declines in the teen and young adult demographics.
