Set during Bram Stoker’s original “Dracula,” the script focuses on the ship that transports the vampire from Transylvania. In the original text, the vessel arrives in England with the entire crew missing, save the captain, whose body is found tied to the helm. In the script, screenwriter Bragi Schut is said to take an approach akin to Ridley Scott’s original Alien, telling the story from the point of view of the Russian crew and treating the vampire as Scott did the sci-fi terror.
Though he most recently directed an episode of “Game of Thrones”, Marshall is best known for big screen films like The Descent, Dog Soldiers and Centurion.
