New Chelsea Handler Show “After Lately” E!-Bound

The E! Network has ordered another series starring writer/comedienne Chelsea Handler, The Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday.
The entertainment network has greenlit eight episodes of After Lately, a half-hour comedy that will follow the improvised backstage hilarity on the set of Handler’s flagship E! series, Chelsea Lately, industry insiders in-the-know tell The Reporter. The show will reportedly be shot in the same vein as HBO’s satirical ’90s sitcom The Larry Sanders Show and the Emmy-winning NBC hit 30 Rock.
“The show is a behind-the-scenes look at what happens at our office when the cameras are off,” the booze-lovin’ Handler — author of the New York Times Bestsellers My Horitzontal Life and Are You there, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea — told Variety this week. “A perfect platform for people who have no business being on camera.”
After Lately is currently in preproduction and a release date has not yet been set.
