Reality TV cameras rolled as his marriage to Jessica Simpson crumbled — a fact that apparently hasn’t stopped ex-Newlywed Nick Lachey from inviting the reels to watch as he enters holy matrimony once more: this time with former MTV VJ Vanessa Minnillo. Lachey, host of NBC’s The Sing-Off, and the one-time Miss Teen USA have sold the rights to their upcoming wedding to TLC, PEOPLE said Tuesday. Lachey, 37, and Minnillo, 30, who have been an item since 2006, will tie the knot in a one-hour TV special titled Nick & Vanessa’s Dream Wedding, a docu-series that will premiere just weeks after the couple’s top-secret wedding date.
“We’re lucky to have such passionate and loving fans, and we thought partnering with TLC on this special would be the best way to share the exciting journey we’re on with all the people that support us and our relationship,” Lachey and Minnillo said in a joint statement.
Lachey famously allowed reality cameras to document his first wedding with ex-wife Jessica. Lachey and Simpson, 30, were married from 2002 to 2006 and much of the union was captured in the MTV reality show Newlyweds. The Nick & Vanessa special will feature footage from their joint wedding shower, the search for Minnillo’s wedding dress, and the ceremony itself. Fans will also get a sneak peek at Vanessa’ bachelorette party. The brunette jetted to Las Vegas with gal pals on Friday to celebrate her impending marriage to Lachey with a good old-fashioned hen fest. The ladies got the party started at with dinner and dancing at LAVO on Friday evening, where the group enjoyed cocktails before Vanessa hopped into the DJ booth.
“I’m about to get married,” the 30-year-old beauty told the enthusiastic crowd. “I’m about to get a ball and chain…but not yet, and tonight’s my bachelorette party!”
The party continued as the future Mrs. was treated to a sweet serenade by a little person impersonating her fiance, who sang a 98 Degrees song while dancing for the bachelorette.
On Saturday, the girls took up occupancy of a poolside cabana at Marquee Dayclub at the Cosmopolitan. the bride-to-be posed for photos with fans while reconnecting with her beauty queen roots in a traditional “Bachelorette” sash and crown.
