‘Orphan Black’ Season 5 first look: The Clone Club’s origin story shall be revealed

There’s a lot at stake for every member of the Clone Club once “Orphan Black” returns to BBC America. And while we still have a few months until the fifth season kicks off —  Saturday, June 10, to be exact — the network dropped a little treat for fans on Wednesday (March 22) in the form of 10 new photos.

Combine these photos with the official synopsis for the show’s final season, and June can’t come fast enough:

This season, the walls close in on Sarah when nearly all her sestras and their allies are brought to heel by Rachel. Even more harrowing is that her daughter Kira has joined them. With the threat of Neolution having carte blanche access to clone biology, Sarah is desperate to gain control, but realizes she must change tactics to pursue a long game. Protecting both her families, and the host of clones she’s yet to meet, Sarah and those still fighting the fight will uncover the missing pieces of the insidious conspiracy – and finally learn the story behind their origin. Despite the great risk, the fight of her life will either set her and her sestras free, or see them meet their end…

We definitely have concerns about Kira entering the fold, but her inclusion in the fight is an inevitable turn. Something tells us her psychic abilities will be an integral component moving forward.

And just when we thought the Clone Club was packed to the brim, BBC America teases us with “more clones.” How many roles will Tatiana Maslany be playing this time around, anyway!? Will any of these new characters help Sarah, Alison, M.K. and the rest take Rachel down?  Maybe… But Neolution won’t be going out without a fight.

No major plot points have been revealed as of yet, but the new images give us further insight into Cosima and Delphine’s (Evelyne Brochu) reunion and Helena’s Davy Crockett lifestyle. Oh, and it looks like Ferdinand (James Frain) is back! We’re not sure if he’s returned as a hero this time around, but given Rachel’s betrayal, we’re hoping for the best.

There are still so many questions leading into the new episodes: For instance, who is that woman in the lab with Art (Kevin Hanchard), Scott (Josh Vokey) and Krystal?

The fifth and final season of “Orphan Black” premieres Saturday, June 10 on BBC America.
