When you’ve got furry faces and wagging tails, who needs pigskins and humans?!

Approximately 9.2 million viewers tuned in to watch Puppy Bowl Vll on Sunday, netting the largest audience yet for Animal Planet’s annual cuddly Super Bowl alternative. Animal Planet counted its total viewers from the afternoon premiere and the subsequent five re-airings. The two-hour premiere drew an average of 1.7 million viewers, up from 1.1 million last year, The Associated Press said Wednesday.

For those not in-the-know, The Puppy Bowl consists of a gaggle of pooches running around on a small, indoor football field, scoring touchdowns if they cross a goal line with a chew toy.
