Just at the time when a deal between Reliance Communication and South African major MTN are searching for a possibility to have a deal between them, the two governments had made it clear that they will not interfere at all in the matters of the two companies.
This was stated by Rob Davis, minister of trade and commerce, Republic of South Africa on the sidelines of a Confederation of Indian Industries’ session. He said that both the governments will let the two companies work freely over the deal as far as they fulfill regulatory requirements.
Indian cabinet minister of commerce and industry, Anand Sharma also have expressed similar view saying, “We can’t change regulation for one deal. It has implications on a universe of other things. Other than that, we will support decisions made by individual companies.”
