Rachel Weisz Joining The Bourne Legacy ?
Rachel Weisz could take the female lead in director Tony Gilroy’s The Bourne Legacy , Deadline reports.
The film, a spinoff of the popular Robert Ludlum-adapted franchise, will star Jeremy Renner as a new government operative who has come out of a program even more dangerous than the one that spawned Jason Bourne.
Weisz, whose potential role is unspecified, won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in 2006’s The Constant Gardener . She will next appear opposite Tom Hiddleston in the romantic drama The Deep Blue Sea and is said to be up for a villainous role in Sam Raimi’s Oz, the Great and Powerful . It remains to be seen whether or not she’ll have to pick one project over the other.
