Scott Cooper Takes The Low Dweller

With the project moving from one Scott to another, Deadline is now reporting that Crazy Heart director Scott Cooper will tackle The Low Dweller for Relativity Media. Previously, Ridley Scott was rumored to helm the drama with Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead.

Ridley Scott and DiCaprio will remain on the film as producers and there doesn’t seem to be definitive word yet on whether the actor might still consider starring.

The project is a spec from first-time writer Brad Ingelsby, who, when he wrote the film, worked as an insurance salesman in Pennsylvania. Ingelsby had been working on the script in his spare time and had never set foot in Hollywood when the project sold for $ 650,000 against $ 1.1 million.
