Sex and City 2 was released in 3445 North American theaters on Friday, and it has collected $13 million on its opening day. Thus the movie continues its success when its first sequel was released in 2008.

Though the original movie from the studio’s New Line label had gathered $26 million two years back, but the new movies has also faired well at the box office. This also means that by the end of the Memorial Day weekend, the movie will have collected above $60million

Disney’s new wide release Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time has collected just over $10.2 million on its opening day in 3646 theaters. Another film the Shrek Forever After took only 11.3million as it entered in its second week.
