Groundbreaking English punk rock band The Sex Pistols have launched their very first fragrance.
With their controversial lifestyle and attitude, The Sex Pistols revolutionized British culture in the 1970s. These days, the group — fronted by Johnny Rotten — are collaborating with French beauty brand Etat Libre D’Orange to create a fragrance they describe as “The Spirit of Punk” in a bottle.
“To wear this scent, you must resist tradition, fight conformity, and disregard aromatic conventions. In the spirit of punk, you must be willing to express yourself with abandon. You take risks and you wouldn’t be adverse to creating a little mayhem.”
Sex Pistols: The Fragrance is reminiscent of a “fresh, restless bite of lemon, sharpened and intensified by a defiant black pepper,” style experts say. The scent comes complete in packaging inspired by the Sex Pistols’ hit 1977 track, “God Save the Queen.”
The fragrance arrives on retail counters next month.
