Though Lee De Wyze was declared the winner of American Idol on Wednesday and it was clear that the defeated candidate in the finale Crystal Bowersox was no less gifted a singer, but some other happenings in the event stole away the limelight from them.
First, it was surprising and shocking that the departing judge Simon Cowell got an amateurish tribute and it is now being said that such ignorance about the judge will not auger well for the show in the future.
Another marked happening in the finale was the return of former judge Paula Abdul. She had left the show after eight seasons and reasons for his exits were not known. The audience gave her a standing ovation and she was looking amazing in poofy fuchsia minidress.
These events in the show are going to leave a mark on it and next season is to be watched curiously by the critics.
