In 1977, fans — some dressed as Chewy or Luke Skywalker — wrapped around their local cinema to see the release of George Lucas’s “Star Wars.”

And now, 35 years (and five additional films) later, the force has remained strong. The series, of course, has gone through many changes in the past three decades. The original film is famously set “a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away” and follows Luke Skywalker’s journey to become a Jedi master and aid the Rebel Alliance in defeating Darth Vader.
