Jersey Shore’s salary “situation” is now under control: The entire cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore, including fan favorites Snooki, JWoww, and The Situation, have signed on for a third season of the popular beach-themed reality soap.
The network — which scrambled to deal with a cast strike due to a reported salary dispute this week — were able to secure deals for the cast’s return for the show’s third season. Filming on Season 3 stalled over the weekend when the Shore cast made headlines by refusing to film. They complained that they were tricked into their contracts, which had paid each cast member $10,000 per episode for the show’s second season.
All returning cast members will get a very big increase over their $10,000-per-episode take for Season 2 — and a mega increase over the $5,000-per-episode they earned in the show’s breakout season. Cast member Angelina Pivarnick will not return for Season 3.
“MTV is pleased that the ‘Jersey Shore’ cast are returning to Seaside Heights to continue production on Season 3,” the network said in a presser issued Tuesday. “Not only have they become a part of the MTV family, but fans worldwide have fallen in love with them. Stay tuned for ‘Jersey Shore’ Season 2 on July 29,” the statement continued.
