Diagnosis: Fun idea, poor execution. There’s no doubt abs are in, but pulling the look off requires a healthy dose of effortlessness. The stripes, the pleats and the over-the-top makeup — plus the distinct impression that she’s clenching her stomach muscles for dear life — don’t give the look quite the “cool California girl” vibe it requires.
Prognosis: Fortunately Deeley has great style, so we know this can be saved with a little surgery. We say ditch the matchy top and add a boxy black cropped tee. Apply eye makeup remover liberally to the under-eye liner and shake out the hair. Finally, exhale. She’s got a great midriff already; no sense in passing out to prove it!
