Morning show viewers were left scratching their heads with glum faces after Susan Boyle’s debut on ABC’s The View ended up disaster early Tuesday.

Boyle was on the show to promote her hit holiday album, The Gift, but ran into trouble as she tried to make it through “O Holy Night.” Susan, who struggled with stage fright and emotional breakdowns early in her rise to fame, stopped singing mid-song, apparently not realizing that her performance was live. Viewers were left all kinds of uncomfortable as she cringed, paused, and tried to signal for the music to stop.
View hostess Sherri Shepherd and Whoopi Goldberg swooped in and quickly ended the segment.

Let’s hope the Scottish sensation finds her voice before tonight. Boyle, fellow talent show star Jackie Evancho, and songbird Mariah Carey are among the stars scheduled to perform during New York City’s annual Christmas tree-lighting special, NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center, airing @ 8 PM.
