Academy Award-winning screenwriter Frank Pierson has passed away at the age of 87.
Pierson is best known for his Oscar-nominated screenplays “Cool Hand Luke,” “Cat Ballou” and “Dog Day Afternoon,” the latter of which won him the gold in 1976.
