Warner Bros. Pictures has set an October 19, 2012 release for Zombieland and 30 Minutes or Less director Ruben Fleischer’s The Gangster Squad. Written by Will Beall, the crime thriller stars Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Robert Patrick, Michael Pea, Giovanni Ribisi and Anthony Mackie. It is described as follows:

Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob

While the Roy Lee production, Abduction, starring Taylor Lautner — emphasis on the word abs — hits theaters today, another Lee film is already in the works. Warner Bros. today announced it has created 40,000 Limited-Edition Collectible hotel keycards for the TV series “Alcatraz” and “Person of Interest,” the DVD release of “Smallville: The Complete Series,” the digital series “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” and “The Lord of the Rings: War in the North” video game.

Warner Bros. Pictures has acquired David Dobkin’s spec script Arthur & Lancelot , reports Deadline . The site says the script is a $ 90 million budgeted re-imagining of the classic tale to be directed by Dobkin. He’ll also produce with Lionel Wigram, and Jeff Kleeman is executive producer.

Warner Bros. Plans Turkey Bowl

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, who both appeared opposite one another in last year’s The Other Guys , have signed on for a Warner Bros. comedy called Turkey Bowl , Variety reports.

The pair will appear as rival football coaches of small-town teams whose big showdown is a Thanksgiving Day game.

Robert Carlock and Scott Silveri, who both worked together on “Friends” and “Joey”, will provide the screenplay.
