For most, May means warm weather and flowers blooming but for Melissa McCarthy the month might mean something else: dollar signs!

“Bridesmaids” first hit theaters on May 13 of last year and her upcoming comedy, “Identity Theft,” has just been slapped with a very similar release date.

McCarthy is starring alongside “Arrested Development” star Jason Bateman in the upcoming switcheroo comedy, which will hit theaters on May 10, 2013. Perhaps “Horrible Bosses”… More

“I am going to murder myself if you don’t come down to my new fucking mall,” shouts Eric Wareheim in the red-band trailer for his film, “Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie.” Blackmail by threat of suicide may seem like an odd way to market your first feature, but then again, Wareheim and his co-star Tim Heidecker traffic in odd comedic behavior.

“Billion Dollar Movie” is a spin-off of the duo’s… More

BERLIN — Italian documentary “Caesar Must Die,” showing inmates of a high-security prison staging Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar,” was awarded the Berlin film festival’s top award Saturday.

Directors Paolo Taviani and Vittorio Taviani received the Golden Bear award out of 18 contenders at what is the first of the year’s major European film festivals.

The Taviani brothers, both in their early 80s, thanked the international jury led by British director Mike Leigh and… More

Michael Bay is so big, he doesn’t even need Variety or The Hollywood Reporter to break news about his next move. The director used his personal website on Monday to confirm a report from producer Lorenzo DiBonaventura about his involvement in “Transformers 4.”

“There has been a lot of speculation about what I’m going to do next and when or if I will do another ‘Transformers,’” Bay wrote. “So let me… More

Looking for a re-creation of “Requiem For a Dream” using only toys and candy? Then you’ve come to the right place.

The 2000 drama, directed by Darren Aronofsky, told the story of four individuals who sink to the depths of drug addiction. Heroin, pot, cocaine, diet pills; nothing was off limits. Thankfully, one YouTube user took it upon himself to reenact some of the film’s most harrowing scenes with hand puppets… More

For a subject like short films, brevity is the key. So here’s everything you need to know in a nutshell: the Short Film Oscars are broken into three categories: Live-action, Animation and Documentary. They come from all over the world and usually serve as the big spoiler in your Academy Award pool. The films arrive in theaters this weekend (check the full listings to see when they will arrive to… More

“Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace 3D” hits theaters this weekend, and it brings up a lot of contradictory feelings in fans of George Lucas’ legendary franchise. Most parents (and viewers in general) feel an overpowering allegiance to the original trilogy, but our kids, who have been exposed to the prequel trilogy and its animated “Clone Wars” spin-off, might actually prefer Episodes I-II-III. What is a self-respecting IV-V-VI-loyal… More

Perhaps Madonna’s daughter Lourdes gave her mother hydrangeas for Christmas?

The Material Girl’s offspring had a small role in her mother’s film, “W.E.,” which opens in theaters this Friday. However, as the singer/actress/director told MTV, she ended up having to cut the scene from the film.

“There was a scene where [Lourdes] played Wally [Wallis Simpson] as a young girl. And I just kind of dragged her in at the last minute… More

Despite having not yet opened in either Japan or China, “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” has already earned $ 167 million worldwide — a pretty great number for a film that many hysterics continue to call a “box-office disappointment.” Unfortunately, for Team “Tattoo” those lofty global figures won’t get a jolt from the 1.17 billion people that call India home; the local ratings board there has deemed “Dragon Tattoo”… More
