‘Avatar’ will return to theatres this summer with new scenes in it.
The film got replaced at digital and IMAX screens by Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland” on March 5.
However, Fox will reportedly re-release the alien film later this year, reports the New York Daily News.

Howard Stern's comments about the "Precious" star were distasteful, but he was also right.
BY KEVIN BROCCOLI
Earlier this week Howard Stern got into quite a bit of trouble for saying on air that Gabourey Sidibe, the Oscar-nominated star of "Precious," will never work again. I think it was distasteful (if typical) that he made comments about her weight. That said, I think he was absolutely right.
This girl has peaked.
Not because she's not talented, but because she's an overweight African-American girl in Hollywood. I think we all know the odds there. E! Online mentioned that Sidibe is already working on a Showtime drama starring Laura Linney, but if anyone's wondering when her next big movie role is, I think you're going to be waiting for a long time.
People are attacking Stern for his comments, but they're not bringing up the elephant in the room — the truth. Normally, when a woman is nominated for best lead actress for her film debut, she's stepping over offers left and right.
It's become a sad tradition that African-American Academy Award winners tend to fade out of sight once they win. Yes, there are exceptions (Denzel Washington comes to mind), but think of all the stars who received a nomination or award and then never made it back to the red carpet.
Halle Berry hasn't been able to match her "Monster's Ball" acclaim. Jennifer Hudson settled for small roles in "Sex and the City" and "The Secret Life of Bees." Forrest Whitaker turned in a revelatory performance in "The Last King of Scotland" and then did a guest spot on "ER" (for 6 episodes).
It's not uncommon for people to go into professional paralysis after receiving such a high honor. All of the people I just listed took a few steps back in their careers after the Oscars, but Sidibe's career doesn't seem to be going anywhere at all.
This is because on top of being a minority actress in Hollywood, she's also overweight. Like it or not, nobody's tripping over themselves to write movies for overweight African-American girls.
I give Howard Stern credit for at least pointing out that it's ridiculous to have a bunch of celebrities who weigh 8 pounds stand onstage at the Oscars and say Sidibe has a long, A-list career ahead of her.
I'd still like to see Hollywood prove him wrong.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) March 12, 2010 — The news came to the “Haynesville” production office in a deceptively simple and somewhat cryptic E-mail from Janet Pierson, SXSW’s film festival producer: “Congrats! You’re in! Call me.”
Splash Screen
It was the deciphering of the message that was important. The documentary film “Haynesville: The Relentless Hunt for Energy Future” had been chosen to screen at the world-renowned SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas. Added to that, the film had earned a coveted “Spotlight Premiere” slot and would be shown at the historic Paramount Theater.
“I couldn’t believe it when Janet told me the news,” said Gregory Kallenberg, director of the film. “Showing at SXSW was our highest goal. After getting off of the phone, I actually had to sit down and process what had just happened.”
SXSW Film is globally known for being a top-tiered film festival and, along with Sundance, the best festival in the country for documentaries. This year, with less than 50 open slots, SXSW broke a record by receiving over 750 documentary films. Only 20 of the 50 films that were selected from all entries are Spotlight Premieres.
“It’s an amazing honor, and just the way we wanted to premiere the film,” says Kallenberg. “We feel like ‘Haynesville’ is an important film that needs to seen by the entire country, and we’re hoping that this prestigious showing helps position the film so that it can be seen by a wider audience.”
“Haynesville” plays on Tuesday, March 16 at 11am at the Paramount Theater. Tickets will be available at the box office prior to the screening for $10. SXSW badge holders can attend the screening as part of the conference. The film’s DVD will be released simultaneously with the premiere and be available through the film's website here.

This film, The Rainbow Boy, embodies the true spirit and potential of grassroots funding and support for independent filmmaking.
Filmmaking of this kind is important for passing on indigenous language and heritage. It promotes and develops Navajo talent, and demonstrates an important avenue that other indigenous people can utilize for maintaining language and culture.
True independent filmmaking can't happen without the support of the grassroots film and arts community. So far we have raised $2,210 and need $15,000 to complete! follow link to learn how you can help us make this dream come true!

US R&B star Akon is to record a track for a Bollywood film, following in the footsteps of rapper Snoop Dogg who raised his profile in the 1.2-billion-strong Indian market with a similar foray. The Grammy Award-nominated star will contribute to the soundtrack of “RA.One,” a sci-fi action film currently in production starring heartthrob Shah Rukh … More
Much like James Cameron, Robert Zemeckis has always been a director on the cutting edge of film technology. The most recent way he has cemented this title is through his exclusive use of motion capture in The Polar Express, Beowulf, and A Christmas Carol. There is a serious problem with this filming technique, however, and it is called "the uncanny valley."
In the recent issue of Scientific American a study was recently conducted at Princeton University where macaques were presented both real and animated images of monkey faces and the time looking at the faces was calculated. According to the results, the monkeys were quick to turn away from the animated faces, which scientists speculated was because, "realistic animations might resemble sickly or diseased animals because they lack subtle cues of health such as normal skin texture and hue—and that an aversion to such sights may have evolved to keep us healthy."

Warning : The above picture may contain content that boys won't like, including a female and that female's really long hair.
Last week I attempted to figure out why, exactly, Disney decided to change the title of their upcoming animated film Rapunzel to Tangled . After sending a couple emails to Disney, the only response I received was that it was "a filmmaker decision". A filmmaker decision … to change the title of a film from one that immediately has a familiar, built-in…
