Charlie Day ( Horrible Bosses ) has joined Charlie Hunnam in director Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim , reports Variety .
The Legendary Pictures project sees a future Earth defending itself from attacking creatures. Day will play a professor in the film.
Travis Beacham wrote the script for the movie, produced by Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni. Filming will start this fall.
Pacific Rim is aiming for a summer 2013 release.
