The team behind the successful “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise hopes to bring some of that magic to the Wild West.

Johnny Depp reunites with director Gore Verbinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer for another potentially massive summer blockbuster in “The Lone Ranger,” which opens July 3. In a new two-and-a-half-minute trailer that debuted earlier today, moviegoers get more explosions, more action sequences, and more quipping than we’ve seen in previous teasers.

Hi-yo, Silver! After years of gestating, the first trailer for Gore Verbinski’s “Lone Ranger” has arrived.

The most-recent revamp of the Americana classic stars the caroonishly handsome Armie Hammer as the masked crusader and a very made up Johnny Depp as his trusty companion, Tonto.
