Paramount Pictures and Qualcomm have announced that a Star Trek Into Darkness app will launch at the end of January. The app will unlock a first surprise during the Super Bowl’s second quarter on February 3 via a TV spot. Here’s the announcement:

Now that Joel Silver’s Silver Pictures has moved off of the Warner Bros. lot, the team there is looking to set up some projects and it appears they’ve found a home for a supernatural thriller titled Sanctuary.
Variety says that Paramount Pictures is in negotiations to acquire Darren Aronofsky’s The General. Aronofsky (Black Swan) will direct and produce the George Washington film, written by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage.
