Damon Lindelof Plans 1952

Damon Lindelof, best known for his work on “LOST”, has signed on to both write and produce a mysterious project called 1952 , Deadline reports.

Little is known about the project and, indeed, 1952 is said to likely be just a working title. What has been revealed is that the film is a big-budget sci-fi project and is designed to expand beyond a single feature into a multi-tiered franchise.

Paramount Pictures is developing an animated adaptation of the Penny Arcade comic strip The New Kid , says a story at The Hollywood Reporter .

The strip, created by Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins, tells the science fiction tale of Sol, a young boy living with his father in outer space. He winds up attending a new school populated entirely by aliens.

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, who both appeared opposite one another in last year’s The Other Guys , have signed on for a Warner Bros. comedy called Turkey Bowl , Variety reports.

The pair will appear as rival football coaches of small-town teams whose big showdown is a Thanksgiving Day game.

Robert Carlock and Scott Silveri, who both worked together on “Friends” and “Joey”, will provide the screenplay.
