Showtime has ordered a third season of The Big C, a comedy starring Laura Linney as a suburban momma who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer.

The next 10 episodes will go into production starting early next year for debut sometime in the early spring.

Steve Carell has his first post-Office gig — and it’s behind the scenes.

The freshman season of The Borgias finished strong for Showtime on Sunday: The period drama that stars Jeremy Irons averaged 810,000 viewers at 10 p.m. and 1.1 million viewers for the night. Overall this season, the series about a crime family in Italy circa 1492 lured 3.3 million weekly viewers and outperformed the highest-rated season of  ‘The Borgias’ finishes strong on Showtime

More good Sunday night ratings news: Showtime’s new series The Borgias had the pay TV network’s strongest drama premiere in seven years. The Jeremy Irons historical drama had 1.06 million viewers for its premiere, then added another 432,000 viewers during its encore for a 1.5 million tally. That’s up notably from the series debut of  ‘Borgias’ sets Showtime ratings record
