At last. The road to Oscar brought the spotlight to Hollywood and Highland's Kodak Theatre. And, it was 'The Hurt Locker' that overcame the mammoth 'Avatar' with six awards, including Best Picture and a historic win for Kathryn Bigelow as Best Director.
Highlights of a rather staid affair included the overdue statues for Jeff Bridges and Sandra Bullock. As for the Na'vi? The James Cameron epic scores three prizes for technical achievement.
