The movie blogosphere is buzzing with speculation as to why Disney might have scrapped a huge Johnny Depp reboot of ‘The Lone Ranger.’ The official reason seems to be that the studio thought the project was too expensive, though that hasn’t stopped Disney from investing recently in some other lavish and risky projects, like the upcoming ‘John Carter’ and ‘Oz, The Great and Powerful.’
