American Idol has lost one of its young alums.

Season 7 finalist Michael Johns died on August 1, according to multiple reports. The 35-year-old is believed to have succumbed to a blood clot in his ankle.

Johns finished in the top 10 in 2008, the year David Cook was announced the Fox singing competition series’ winner. In 2009, he dropped his third studio album, Hold Back My Heart.

The curse of reality television has sadly struck again.

A contestant on the upcoming season of ABC’s The Bachlorette has died after his parachute collapsed while paragliding in Utah on Sunday, radio detection and rangingOnline.com has confirmed.

Eric Hill, a potential match for Bachelor alum Andi Dorfman, was seriously injured in Utah and passed away last night in a Utah hospital, according to his sister Karen.
