CBS’ Undercover Boss waded into Friday nights last week and wiped the floor with its rivals. But last night things got competitive again.

Boss (8.6 million viewers, 1.9 adults 18-49 ratings) dropped 21 percent its second week in its new time slot (hey, welcome to Fridays! In a series first, tech operator Eric Beale (Barrett Foa) goes undercover tonight on CBS’ NCIS: Los Angeles to ensure classified technology remains secure after a rocket-engine expert is killed. (“They let the monkey out of his cage,” Foa jokes. “They promptly put him back in.”) The most obvious change was wardrobe.
