Some stars check out the runways for style inspiration, others keep tabs on Pinterest, and still others look to a certain children’s TV show for fashion tips — at least if these celebs’ current coat of choice is any indication.
Kourtney Kardashian, Sarah Jessica Parker and Ellen Pompeo all recently stepped out in alpaca-inspired, brightly colored coats, which definitely have a “Cookie Monster Couture” vibe.
The reality star (left) first wore the popular topper last month, when she chose a faux-fur mint Skaist Taylor creation paired with an orange blouse and white pants. Then just last week, Parker tried the trend in the form of a blue double-breasted alpaca coat from NoNoo, plus a black plaid dress. And most recently, Pompeo donned a fuzzy ruby version with a white tee and leather skinnies on Monday night.
We love a bold trend, but this is one we recommend approaching with extreme caution. Keep the shaggy look, but stick with neutral colors since the material makes a big enough statement on its own. And if you’re determined to pay homage to the Muppets, try a bright alpaca accent rather than an allover coat. Tell us: Do you like these jackets or are they too over-the-top?
