Originally reported last week, the “Arrow” series will adapt DC Comics’ Green Arrow character, dropping the emerald adjective from the title. Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg are writing and executive producing.
Rumored last September, “Beauty and the Beast” will loosely adapt the television series that ran for three seasons beginning in 1987. It was created by Ron Koslow as a re-imagining of the fairy tale. Ron Perlman starred as Vincent, a beast-man who lived beneath the streets of New York City with an underground homeless community. There, he developed a psychic bond with with Catherine (Linda Hamilton), a District Attorney in the city.
Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper wrote the new script and will executive producing alongside Koslow, Bill Haber, C. Anthony Thomas and Paul Junger Witt.
Lastly, “The Carrie Diaries”, based on the Candace Bushnell book series that serve as a prequel to “Sex and the City”, will feature the life of young Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker’s character) as she comes of age in 1980′s Manhattan. Amy Harris drafted the pilot and will executive produce with Bushnell, Len Goldstein, Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz.
