‘The Flash’: Caitlin doesn’t blame Barry for her new powers but Killer Frost might

Highlight on New Movie Released DVD

When “The Flash” returns for its Nov. 15 episode, “Shade,” its central focus will be on Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) getting the speedster powers back that we saw in the Season 2 premiere “Flashpoint.” Wally isn’t the only one struggling with metahuman abilities coming unleashed, though.

After Barry changed the timeline, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) now has the Killer Frost powers that her Earth-2 counterpart used in Season 2 and the changes are becoming more obvious by the day, with even losing her temper leading to a very deep freeze. Yet somehow, Caitlin is keeping these new developments under wraps — for good reason.

“I think she doesn’t understand it,” Panabaker says when asked why she’s not telling the team about her new powers. “I think that conversation would be a little bit difficult, like, ‘Hey guys, I don’t have any answers, but here you go,’ especially for Caitlin as a scientist, and someone who is focused on always having the answers. She wants to get this figured out for herself before she comes to the team.”

She might need to come clean before it’s too late, though. Her mother warned her that the more she uses her powers the harder they are to control, and that’s already coming to pass. Killer Frost is inside of her and dying to come out.

Which begs the question, if her inner-villain comes to the surface, will she blame Barry (Grant Gustin) for changing the timeline and giving her these powers?

“I thought about that, and I asked myself that question. The way I sort of see it is this version of Caitlin Snow, this is her life,” Panabaker explains. “She doesn’t remember Flashpoint, and she doesn’t remember that other timeline. So she doesn’t know anything else.”

So at this point there’s no resentment towards Barry for what he’s done. Instead, Panabaker believes, “it’s fascinating, and also from a scientific perspective, I think it’s interesting to her.”

When Killer Frost takes over though, all bets are off. She’s not actually known for her cool demeanor. Given her temperament, it’s likely going to spell big trouble for Team Flash.
