The Real Housewives of New York City Reunion Part 2: "Lie-Ann" de Lesseps Takes a Lic…

As if it wasn’t already abundantly clear, the second part of the Real Housewives of New York City reunion special sealed the deal: When it comes to fiance Tom D’Agostino Jr., Luann de Lesseps does not even slightly care what anyone has to say. She’s got the ring, she’s got the wedding date, she won.

So why should we still care?

In spite of the mounting evidence against him and regardless of the claims from friends she’s had for nearly a decade, Luann has made up her mind and is standing by her man.

If it doesn’t bother her that he’s told inconsistent stories about how many times dates he went on with Ramona Singer, why should it bother us? If it doesn’t give her pause that he’s repeatedly attempted to gaslight Sonja Morgan and call her description of their sexual relationship “delusional,” why should it give us pause? If she’s able to forget Ramona’s smoking gun—a Radar article dated September 17 clearly linking the Singer Stinger and Tom romantically that Luann’s supposedly brought up on multiple occasions—at the drop of a hat, then why can’t we? Poof! Forgotten.

Watching Luann in action tonight was truly something to behold. She was like the Teflon Don—nothing stuck to her. The photo of the heart he’d drawn on Ramona’s hand? Mere child’s play! Tom’s awkward interaction with Sonja at the engagement party? Sorry, what do you mean “awkward”? (No really, can you define that for her? She might need some help.) A mere mention of Tom dating a younger woman? “He doesn’t go with young girls.”

In the end, Luann made one thing absolutely clear: “Listen, I’m engaged to this man and I’m going to marry him, so back off. Just back off.”

Even Dorinda Medley, one of Lu’s staunchest supporters, had to admit that the sheer mountain of evidence was enough to give anyone pause, but if Luann doesn’t care, what good does it do if anyone else does? You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink. Luann is clearly just not very thirsty.

“It’s a weird universe,” Bethenny Frankel marveled as the madness unfolded around her. Indeed.

The Real Housewives of New York City reunion special concludes Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

(E! and Bravo are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
