The search for Joe is on in ‘The A Word’ Season 1 finale

Highlight on New Movie Released DVD

With the Season 1 finale of “The A Word” at hand, the disappearance of Joe (Max Vento) is tearing everyone apart.

“The A Word” follows a family as they come to terms with the fact that five-year-old Joe has been diagnosed as autistic. Now with him missing, an episode description reads, “Some uncomfortable truths are revealed.”

In Zap2it’s exclusive clip of the finale, the disappearance of the boy is leading to a massive breakdown of his parents, as all they want is their son home safe and sound. “If we find him, I don’t want to change anything about him,” his mother Alison (Morven Christie) says through tears. “I want Joe as he is.”

While it’s unclear if they’ll find Joe — or what state he’ll be in — the search isn’t coming up fruitless, as the authorities seem to be hot on Joe’s trail. Now the question is whether they’ll find him before something tragic happens.

“The A Word’s” Season 1 finale airs Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Sundance.
