The ‘Timeless’ gang meets America’s maker (Exclusive)

Throughout its initial ten-episode run on NBC, “Timeless” has found our group of heroes — Lucy (Abigail Spencer), Wyatt (Matt Lanter) and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) — facing down some of the most difficult challenges they may have ever thought they’d face. And now, in Monday’s (Dec. 12) mid-season finale, they’re heading back to one of the landmark moments that helped to shape the country that would eventually be known as The United States of America.

In this exclusive clip from the episode in question, “The Capture of Benedict Arnold,” the group comes face to face with none other than General George Washington (Damian O’Hare). That must be quite a trip!

The episode not only revisits those historical moments from 1778, it also finds our group of heroes facing some eye-opening realizations of their own. When the mission began, it was clear-cut: Stop Garcia Flynn (Goran Visnjic) from destroying the country. But now Rufus, Lucy and Wyatt have seen just how complex the world can be, not to mention their own allegiances… and time itself.

By now, we know Flynn is a lot more complicated than his apparent plans. As the traitor story of Benedict Arnold’s capture will play out on-screen, we’ve got a feeling they will show us Flynn — and the whole team, all of whom are traitors of one kind or another — through another new lens.

We’re not sure how or why, but with the American Revolution as their backdrop, it’s sure to come with a punch.

The “Timeless” fall finale airs Monday, Dec. 12, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
