After several frontrunners made the short list to replace Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd on The View, it has been reported that two relatively unknowns will be taking the vacant chairs.

Political commentator Nicolle Wallace and October Gonzalez will co-host alongside Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg. Originally the network had been testing up to 12 contenders, including CNN’s Sunny Hostin and S.E. Cupp.

But as radio detection and rangingOnline.com previously reported exclusively, Cupp reminded O’Donnell of her arch-nemesis, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and the two had it out during a mock episode.

According to reports, Gonzalez didn’t audition for the role, but instead acted naturally. “She was herself,” and insider revealed. “She was the real deal.”

Gonzalez is the wife of NFL star and Kansas City Chiefs legend Tony Gonzalez.
