‘The X-Factor’: Demi Lovato takes anti-drug stance and boots rapper from competition

Given Demi Lovato’s history with addiction, it’s no surprise that she took a firm anti-drug stance at an audition for “The X-Factor” in Greensboro, N.C. A rapping duo took the stage and their song included jokes about bath salts — the synthetic drug that many believe led to the horrific face-eating incident in Miami earlier this spring.
Lovato wasn’t amused. “It’s really irresponsible to be rapping about drugs in front of kids,” she told the two MCs according to TMZ. They tried to make excuses, and she interrupted them. “You talked about bath salts. I heard you.”
The audience, agreeing with Lovato, booed the rappers as she asked them to please leave the stage. Fellow judges Britney Spears, Simon Cowell, and L.A. Reid supported Demi’s decision.
