It appears that R&B superstars Drake and Chris Brown are vying for Rihanna’s affections yet again.

Brown, who was arrested for his brutal beating of the Barbadian beauty five years ago this month, has been exchanging text messages with the “Umbrella” singer, which, insiders tell the NY Post, has those close to the pop princess very concerned she’ll give the historically-troubled relationship another go.

“Chris started texting Rihanna on her [Feb. 20] birthday, and the two have been sending each other a flurry of texts ever since,” a source told the paper. “Rihanna didn’t write back right away … but later that night she started getting sentimental and texted back, ‘Thank you,’ and asked how he was.

“Since then, the two haven’t stopped texting each other and friends are freaked out that she’s going to start dating him again.”

But with the world at her fingertips, RiRi — currently in the coveted spot on the cover of Vogue — has been keeping her options open, insiders tell the paper, including a recent Parisian outing with Drake, her collaborator on the hit single “What’s My Name.”

One twist to the situation is that the mercurial Brown remains in an on-again, off-again state with model Karrueche Tran, who herself, has traded barbs with Rihanna over social media in the past.

Further complicating the situation is the Jun. 2012 incident between the two men at New York’s W.I.P. nightclub — in which bottles were broken, blood was shed, and thousands of dollars in damage was done — and the tension that still lingers over the melee.

Drake, speaking with GQ last year, said “the amount of media coverage” surrounding the fracas of “two rappers fighting over the woman” was “embarrassing;” and that he’s got no love for the “Forever” singer.

“It distracts from the music, but he’s made me the enemy, and that’s the way it’s gonna stay, I guess,” the Canadian rapper said. “If I think about it too much, I feel it wrapping around my foot, like I get a feeling it could end really badly.”
