Twitter knows exactly what to do with your Tweets should you kick the bucket while still an active member of the Web’s most popular social networking giant. The site has established a policy for the accounts of people who die, according to the Twitter Help Center.
If Twitter management learns a user has passed away, the account can be removed and site bosses will help family members save a backup of any public Tweets.
Family members wishing to remove a deceased relative’s account and get a backup of Tweets must provide the following information:
- Your full name, contact information (including email address), and your relationship to the deceased user.
- The username of the Twitter account, or a link to the profile page of the Twitter account.
- A link to a public obituary or news article.
