Twitter is experimenting with its likely new service – called t co – to ensure that the users can abbreviate all likes on the site. The service will act in the same way as other URL-shortening services like Bitly have been doing.
With this move, twitter aims to increase security on the site and it also wants to offer analytics and related services for the Tweets platform.
While the URL will be shortening, it will be so only for mobile users. On computers, the users will see the same lengthy URL. The service is also aimed at the competitors Bit ly which offers analytics services also. However, the company’s move is not surprising as its indication were already in March when Twitter launched a flittering service.
