‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 starts with ‘hot and steamy’ Steroline

While we’re still nursing a broken heart over the news that “The Vampire Diaries” will be ending after Season 8, Paul Wesley and Candice King do have a little bit of good news for us about Stefan and Caroline.

When the show returns for the first episode of the final season, fans can expect ‘Steroline’ to pick right back up where they left off with their relationship. “We’re only on episode 1, that’s the only thing I’ve read so far, and it’s hot and steamy right from the get-go,” Wesley tells Zap2it.

After seeing this couple struggle all year to overcome magical babies, old lovers and hell dimensions, it’s nice to know that they’ll be picking up in a happy (and steamy) place. Though this being “The Vampire Diaries,” things won’t be smooth sailing at all.

While King similarly confirms that Stefan and Caroline are together when the season opens, she does hint that “trials and tribulations” are on their way soon enough.

It’s too soon to tell whether these newest obstacles will get in the way of a happily ever after for Steroline before the end of it all, but at least fans can bask in the few first moments of uncomplicated love these two will share before they hit their first bump in the road.
