This summer, audiences will return to the neo-noir world of Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller with Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, the long-awaited sequel to the 2005 film Sin City. While we wait to reenter the shadowy world of sinister fiends and dames to kill — and possibly be killed — for, take a look at this noir-inspired animated short by Rafael Grampá, which has a neat little folkloric, supernatural edge.

Absolut and Facebook commissioned the project, and followers on the liquor company’s page dictated the bones of the storyline throughout a three-week period on the social network. Red Knuckles animation studio transformed the idea into a 3D work of art. The crowd-sourced animation premiered at MADE Berlin earlier this month, but the clip is finally online for the rest of us to enjoy.

Check out Grampá’s short, which follows a man hunting down an idea thief.
