Wedding bells are ringing on ‘TVD’ — we hear June’s a nice month to get hitched

Seven seasons, two flipped humanity switches and one huge breakup later, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice King) have finally made it to the finish line — they’re engaged!

After one tense reunion with his niece, Sarah Salvatore (Tristin Mays) — RIP girl — Stefan must have decided he wasn’t going to wait another second to ask Caroline to marry him. Talk about your cute proposals, hiding the engagement ring in the room he built for her kids.

While we’re through the roof for the happy couple, we’re not sure Alaric (Matt Davis) will necessarily feel the same. He’s got a flirty intern and a hot nanny vying for real estate in his love life, so we don’t think he’ll be jealous over Caroline, but what if he’s not so hot on the idea of Stefan playing step-dad to his twins?

It’s also a little nerve-wracking that this engagement comes so early in the season, since epic declarations of love and weddings are typically reserved for season and series finales, which is still a pretty long way off for “The Vampire Diaries.” With 14 episodes left in their final season, there’s a lot of room for something to go tragically awry for Steroline.

On the flip side, Caroline has probably had her dream wedding planned since she was 8 years old, so she’ll need months to make her picture perfect day a reality. It’s probably for the best that they’re just getting a jump on the wedding planning.

We hear June’s a nice month get hitched.

Meanwhile, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) took a stroll down memory lane, but with Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) as a co-pilot things turned from bad to worse. As nice as it was to see Elena (Nina Dobrev) again via some craftily packaged past footage, does this mean that Sybil is going to rewrite ALL of Damon’s memories with herself in Elena’s place?

If so, we’re super conflicted about this. On the one hand, yay for endless Delena montages! On the other hand, noooooo don’t destroy all the Delena memories!

Here’s hoping that mysterious pitchfork from the Armory can kill Sybil — because so far, she’s pretty damn near unstoppable.

“The Vampire Diaries” airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
