We’ve come to the end of another year in movies, and our first (as a team) here at Movies.com. Before we start talking about 2012 and movie-related New Year’s resolutions, I just wanted to say thank you to all who’ve stopped by to read our stuff in 2011. It was a wild year, and 2012 looks even nuttier, but without you reading us and participating in the movies conversation each day, we’d have nothing except an empty spot next to us on the virtual sofa. So thanks! And we hope you’ll join us for more movie-watching adventures in 2012.
But before we get to 2012 (that conversation begins next week), we need to talk about some movie-related resolutions. Do you have any? Is that something you do? Sure, we all want to drop a few pounds and quit something bad (smoking, drinking, Uwe Boll movies), but do you make any promises to yourself when it comes to movies? Like maybe you want to watch more movies in the 2012 than you did in 2011, or maybe you want to visit the theater a few more times than you did previously.
I’ll make one movie-related New Year’s resolution before throwing it to you, and it’s the same resolution I make every year. I promise to go into every movie with an open mind, hoping to love the hell out of it. If we always remain positive before sitting down to watch a movie, I feel we’d enjoy more of the movies we watch. Don’t look for the bad — look for the good — and try to turn every movie-watching experience into a healthy conversation among those you’re closest with. That’s the way I see it, anyway.
What about you? What are your movie-related New Year’s resolutions?
