What ‘The Flash’ changed in the Flashpoint. Spoiler: Barry screwed up.

Many fans were certainly hoping the only thing Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) changed with all of his time travel was making the West family estranged on “The Flash.” Naturally though, he screwed up a lot more.

While Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Iris (Candice Patton) not talking to each other is a major change to the timeline you knew and loved, it was arguably one of the least massive things to be altered when Barry saved, and then unsaved, his mom from being killed by Reverse Flash (Matt Letscher).

In case you were having trouble keeping track of the new timeline, let’s delve into the major changes that have been revealed so far.

‘The Flash’ impacts ‘Arrow’

We knew this was coming. Producers have been teasing for a while that Diggle (David Ramsey) would be affected by Flashpoint and now fans know how. His daughter Sarah Diggle no longer exists. Instead, the Diggle family now has John Jr.

That’s right, Barry deleted a child from existence. That’s a heavy thing for anyone to have to live with. Now that Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) knows though, it’s only a matter of time before Dig finds out.

Interestingly, this is also bad news for the future of Star City and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell). You may remember in Season 1 when the team visited Star City in the future only to find it in ruins with John Diggle Jr. picking up the mantle of the Green Arrow to fight off thugs. Did Barry make that future a reality? Time will tell.

Joe vs. Iris

While this was the major change revealed in the Season 3 premiere, it’s one that has largely been rectified by the end of episode 2. That’s a good thing because nobody wants to see the West family fighting.

Caitlin gets frosty

It seems that somehow Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) either has or is developing her Killer Frost powers. While Barry thinks she’s the one who had nothing change about her due to his time travel, there’s clearly something very chilly about her now.

Will she become a supervillain this season or could this version of Killer Frost be a hero?

Barry’s new co-worker hates him

After arriving in his new timeline, Barry found out he’s got a lab partner named Julian Albert (Tom Felton) and the two definitely don’t get along. In this timeline, they’ve been working together for a year. However, Julian has no idea about Barry’s speedster powers or the rag tag group of justice warriors that hang out at STAR Labs.

Rest in peace, Dante

While Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and his brother Dante (Nicholas Gonzalez) weren’t exactly close, they were still family. Unfortunately, in the new timeline Dante was killed by a drunk driver. That’s something weighing on Cisco’s soul and was driving a wedge between he and Barry — who refused to go back in time to save him.

Some things don’t change

Of course, not everything changed. In fact, Barry seemingly brought Rival (Todd Lausanne) back from the Flashpoint with him, which led to the introduction of Doctor Alchemy. Barry believes that Alchemy plans to give metahumans from the Flahpoint their powers in the new timeline.

It’s hard to envision a way that wouldn’t include making Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) Kid Flash once again.

There’s so much that’s changed but it’ll be interesting to see what else fans will learn as Season 3 continues to unfold.

“The Flash” airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
