‘Killers’ director has admitted that he was surprised to see Ashton Kutcher bulked up for the role in only a couple of weeks.
Kutcher is known for his long and lean physique but when he first appeared on the French set of ‘Killers’, film’s director, Australian Robert Luketic was shocked at just how much the actor had bulked up for the role in only a matter of weeks.
It was not until Luketic and Kutcher, who shared a villa in the south of France, had some downtime the workout secret was revealed – a DVD Kutcher bought after watching a late-night infomercial on US television.
“I thought he had used a personal trainer and I wanted to know who it was and how he got into that shape so quickly,” the Sydney morning Herald quoted Luketic as saying.
“Then one day I was in his living room and he showed me the DVD. I thought ”Oh my god. This can”t be for real.” But it was.”
Kutcher and Luketic have not named the particular workout but Luketic says it was important the former fashion model add muscle to play the role of Spencer Aimes, an undercover contract killer.
“When I first met Ashton, he had this very slim, model-type body. I thought it would look great if he bulked up and then he just did it but it shocked me when I found out how,” he added.
