Hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani has declined to attend the India Today conclave in Delhi, saying he cannot share the stage with India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Shivshankar Menon.

Speaking to mediapersons late Sunday evening, Geelani said: “I cannot share the stage with officials of the Indian government, including its National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon, unless my six conditions to create a conducive atmosphere for a dialogue are met.”

Geelani had been invited to speak at the India Today conclave on March 18 during a debate titled “Kashmir – What Next?”
